Snow for Christmas? Forecast says maybe

The National Weather Service says a very rare accumulating snowfall event is looking more likely for Northeast Mississippi Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning.

National Weather Service forecast:
Friday Night: A chance of rain before midnight, then rain, snow, and sleet likely. Cloudy, with a low around 32. Northeast wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Christmas Day: Snow likely, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 34. North northeast wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of flurries. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. North wind around 10 mph.
