TUPELO – Tiny snow flurries could be seen in some areas of Northeast Mississippi on Saturday as the temperatures dropped.
The temperatures were forecast to drop into the 20s Saturday night and rain likely will hit the area Monday.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a 40 percent chance of sleet Monday for the Tupelo area. Earlier last week, the NWS said snow was possible.
According to NWS meteorologist Danny Gant, it’s looking like it will be too warm for anything to develop into snow, and precipitation Monday will just be rain. He said areas just north of Mississippi will likely get snow.
