JACKSON — Areas of central Mississippi are bracing for sleet, snow and icy conditions for the next several days.
The National Weather Service says the area could see sleet and snow starting Thursday and lasting through Friday morning.
Parts of northern Mississippi were inundated with snow and had icy bridges Monday and Tuesday.
Central Mississippi could see up to four inches of snow by the end of the workweek.
Meteorologist Marc McAllister in Jackson says an upper-level disturbance will combine with a Gulf of Mexico low pressure system Thursday, causing sleet and snow by the afternoon.
He says lows are not expected to go below the upper 20s.
