Southern Miss baseball players in MLB draft

Former Southern Mississippi quarterback Austin Davis was drafted in the 31st round by the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday. He was the 961st player selected in the draft.
The record-setting QB was a high school standout at West Lauderdale before turning his attention to football at Southern Miss.
Also, USM football signee Anthony Alford was drafted in the third round by the Toronto Blue Jays, 112th overall.
The Petal standout says he’s not going to sign and will play football at USM.
Also, baseball signee Zachary Bird was drafted in the 9th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
