Letter carriers will take to the streets Saturday, May 10, collecting instead of delivering as part of the 11th Annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive.
Stamp Out Hunger is the nation's largest one-day food drive and it has fed 525 million pounds of food to the needy since its beginning in 1992.
It's a joint effort by the National Association for Letter Carriers, Campbell Soup Company and Olympic Gold medalist figure skater, Sarah Hughes.
To help with the food drive, leave a sturdy bag of non-perishable foods such as canned soup, canned vegetables, pasta, rice or cereal next to the mailbox on May 10.
The food needs to be in non-breakable containers. The letter carriers will pick up the bags and deliver them to food pantries and food banks.
