CONROE – Allen Stanford was back in the Conroe jail infirmary Tuesday after heart tests, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Dick DeGuerin, his criminal defense attorney, said Stanford was discharged from Conroe Regional Medical Center where he had a cardiac catheterization test Monday. DeGuerin said Stanford was told he has an aneurysm in his leg and that it would be elective surgery to take care of it because it is not life-threatening.
DeGuerin said he’s concerned that his client’s condition could worsen.
Stanford, 59, faces 21 federal felony charges including conspiracy and fraud in what the government alleges was a $7 billion Ponzi scheme involving CDs sold from Stanford International Bank Ltd. based in Antigua.
