Stanford victims to get hearing in Jackson

JACKSON – Victims of the Stanford financial scandal will get a chance Oct. 5 to voice their concerns and ask questions.

Hosted by the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office, the hearing is set for 1-2:30 p.m. in Room 113 of the State Capitol.

Trey Grayson of Kentucky, president of the National Association of Secretaries of State, is expected to attend.

Mississippi reportedly has more than 2,000 investors affected by Stanford Financial Group and its companies’ collapse in the wake of a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission investigation into the sale of certificates of deposit.

Mississippians reportedly lost nearly $400 million in the crash.
