STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — A Starkville city judge has scheduled for Sept. 20 the trial of a former child care provider accused of felony abuse.

Authorities say 52-year-old Dianna Lynn Covin was working for the First Baptist Church Creative Learning Center when she was arrested in June.

She is charged with two counts of felony child abuse.

Authorities have alleged that Covin administering muscle relaxants to two infants in May. Police say the infants, who were 7 and 4 months old at the time of the incident, received emergency medical treatment.

If convicted, Covin could face a $1,000 fine and/or one year in jail.
