Stauffer named to development board
Tupelo Main Street Director Debbie Stauffer has been selected for a two-year term on the board of directors of the Mississippi Downtown Development Association.
Stauffer was named by Main Street managers during a recent training workshop in Jackson. The nonprofit MDDA, under which the Main Street program was organized, is charged with encouraging development and improvements to downtowns in cities throughout the state.
The Main Street program has established a four-point approach to downtown improvement, aimed beyond the general “paint-up, fix-up” concept. It focuses on long-term revitalization goals involving organization, promotion, design, and economic restructuring.
