Stolen fire hydrants recovered in Corinth; two arrested

By NEMS Daily Journal

CORINTH – Two men arrested in connection with the theft of about 20 city fire hydrants remained in jail late Friday on $7,000 bond each.
Doug Voyles, 37, and John William Voyles, 37, of Corinth, are charged with grand larceny, said Corinth Police Capt. Ralph Dance.
The two men were seen on video taking the hydrants from where they were stored on Corinth Gas & Water property, he said.
They had sold the hydrants for scrap metal and received about $600, the captain said, but it would have cost the department about $6,000 to replace them.
The hydrants have been returned to Corinth Gas & Water.
