Stolen signs rounded up in Farmington

By The Associated Press

FARMINGTON — Police say they have recovered more than 40 stolen road signs.

The Daily Corinthian reports they included railroad crossing signs, speed limit and stop signs, do not enter signs, county road markers, a sign warning motorists to look out for horse-and-buggies, a no dumping sign, a road construction barrel and others.

Deputy Police Chief Jerry Mayhall says the signs were confiscated Friday afternoon at a Farmington home.

Authorities did not identify the resident, but Mayhall says the investigation is continuing and charges may be filed.
