TUPELO – A stoplight at the intersection of Barnes crossing and Highway 45 has been struck by a large piece of farm equipment and is not working.
Tupelo Police Cpl. Philip Sanderson said officers will be directing traffic until the light can be repaired.
The broken stoplight is located at the bottom of the exit ramp for the northbound lane of Highway 45 where it intersects Barnes Crossing Road, next to Cracker Barrel.
Tupelo Water And Light Manager Johnny Timmons said a crew is assessing the damage of the stoplight and will begin repair work once they’ve determined the problem.
An estimate on the repair time is not yet available.
