TUPELO – Rides, music, magic shows, white tigers and plenty of fair food are all a part of the first-ever Tupelo Summer Fest at the Tupelo Furniture Market this weekend.
The fair is a bigger version of the fall fair that comes to the BancorpSouth Arena’s lot each fall.
“It’s a 400,000-square-foot set-up, and we’re going to have more than 20 big rides,” said Sonny Holcomb, a co-promoter for the fair.
It started at the furniture market on Coley Road Thursday and continues through Sunday.
The Blues Brothers will perform today at 7 p.m., and wrestling will be the focus on Saturday, with two shows at noon and 7 p.m.
The Jesus Real Band performs Sunday at 1 p.m.
There will be white tiger shows every day of the fair.
“They will be there on the grounds and the trainer will perform with them as well,” Holcomb said.
The white tiger shows are set for 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. today through Saturday, and 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday.
Admission prices for today through Sunday are $8/adults, $5/12 and under and free/4 and under. Wristbands are $20.
