COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) — A Columbus man has asked a federal judge to throw out evidence gathered during a search of a home.

WTVA reports that 33-year-old Cedric Calmes was booked on drug charges in March 2011.

He was one of three people arrested by the Columbus Lowndes Metro Narcotics Unit and Columbus police.

Authorities served a search warrant on a home on Dan Buddy Road and say they seized 7 ounces of cocaine, 1.7 pounds of marijuana, a .45-caliber handgun and more than $9,000.

In documents made public Monday, Calmes is asking the judge to throw out the evidence, claiming the information used to prove the need for a warrant was not sufficient and was based on unreliable information provided by an informant.
