Suspect in Marshall County near-homicide arrested in Chicago

HOLLY SPRINGS – Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson said the two-month pursuit of Xavier Cornelius Parks is over.
Parks was arrested without incident June 26 in Chicago, Ill., by Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and members of the Chicago FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force.
Parks, a resident of Saulsbury, Tenn., had been sought by law enforcement since he was charged in May with the kidnapping and aggravated assault of Charles Hardeman on April 11 in Marshall County. Hardeman was found in his pickup soaking wet after reportedly having been tied to a weight and tossed into a lake near his home.
Sheriff Dickerson thanks the FBI’s Southaven and Oxford offices, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Hardeman County Tennessee Sheriff’s Department and Marshall County Sheriff’s investigators for the hard work which led to the capture of Parks.
