Suspects sought in casino embezzlement

GREENVILLE — One person has been arrested and authorities have issued arrest warrants for three others related to an alleged check-cashing scheme at Harlow’s Casino in Greenville.

Washington County Sheriff Milton Gaston Sr. tells the Delta Democrat Times that Katrina Bullock, a cashier at Harlow’s, was arrested this past week on two counts of embezzlement. Bullock is free on a $3,000 bond.

Authorities say warrants have been issued for Sherrie Cary, Mary Ann Hardy and Malcolm Alexander.

Gaston says investigators believe Bullock and Cary were cashing fraudulent checks for Hardy during March. He says three checks recovered thus far totaled more than $6,000.

The arrest warrants accuse Cary of embezzlement and Hardy of false pretense and uttering forgery. Alexander is wanted for false pretense.
