One of the three Saltillo police officers previously suspended was reinstated by the city’s board of aldermen Tuesday night.
Alderman Brad Woodcock said Weathers was suspended after it was suspected he made changes to the city’s computer system, but after someone else took credit for the changes, Weathers was cleared.
The vote to reinstate him as a part-time officer was unanimous.
“The tragedy is that he was suspended without anyone looking into it at all,” said Arch Bullard, attorney for the three officers suspended two weeks ago. “After finding out the proper information they cleared Tyler’s name.”
The other two officers, Assistant Chief Prentiss Brown and Officer Mark Roberts, are still suspended with pay. Bullard said he has been provided no information as to why they were suspended.
