TUPELO – A Ford Explorer around 12:30 p.m. today crashed through the fence at the Tupelo Regional Airport, across the street from Mid South Nursery.
The two female teenagers inside were taken to the hospital. One had minor injuries and the other was taken for observation.
Lt. Tim Clouse said it looks like the driver overcorrected while driving on Coley Road.
Tupelo firefighter Kelly Monts said his daughter, Amy Monts, was driving.
“She’s going to be OK,” he said.
Amy is a junior at Tupelo High School. Monts said her passenger also is a THS student.
Officials from the airport were working to get the fence repaired around 1 p.m.
