Tackett participates in Inauguration

WASHINGTON, DC – Army National Guard Capt. Frank E. Tackett participated in the 56th Presidential Inauguration Jan. 20 as part of the largest ever contingent of National Guard members to serve in Washington, D.C.
More than 7,000 Army and Air National Guard members from 31 states and territories provided the 2009 Presidential Inauguration with military working dogs, consequence management planning, and ceremonial, logistics, and medical support through the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee. National Guard members also assisted local authorities with crowd management, traffic control, and emergency services operations.
The Armed Forces Inaugural Committee is established every four years by the Secretary of Defense as a joint service organization to coordinate military ceremonial participation and support inaugural events.
Tackett, a UH-60 helicopter maintenance test pilot with 23 years of military service, is a member of the 1st Brigade, 185th Aviation Battalion, Jackson.
He is the son of Herman E. Tackett of Houston.
His wife, Angela, is the daughter of Lynn Exum of Paragould, Ark.
The captain graduated in 1985 from Houston High School, and received a degree in 2000 from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va.
Anna M. Davis has been promoted in the U.S. Air Force under the Stripes for Exceptional Performers (STEP) program to the rank of technical sergeant.
The STEP program allows Air Force commanders and senior officers to promote a limited number of enlisted airmen ahead of their peers to the ranks of staff through master sergeants. Promoted individuals must have performed outstandingly under unique conditions or recognized for exceptional services rendered in specific situations. Each promotion is warranted by clearly exceptional circumstances, considering the airman’s potential to perform and qualify him/her for service in the higher grade.
Davis is the daughter of Tom P. and Terri L. Carow of Pineway, Oregon, Wis. Her husband, Tech. Sgt. Christopher M. Davis, is the son of William M. Davis of County Road 413, Houlka, Miss., and Rhonda L. Barton of Murff Drive, Grenada, Miss.
The technical sergeant is a maintenance analysis supervisor with the 20th Maintenance Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., but is currently deployed at Al Uldeid Air Base, Qatar, with the 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Operations Squadron. She has nine years of military service.
Davis is a 1998 graduate of Oregon High School, Wis.
