The TAP Alliance is going online to gather opinions about its plans to develop a long-range economic plan.
A regional economic development effort by and among Tishomingo, Alcorn and Prentiss counties, the TAP Alliance is designing a comprehensive economic development strategy “to position the region to continue to successfully assist existing businesses and compete for new quality jobs,” according to an alliance news release.
Little Rock-based Boyette Strategic Advisers, an economic development and public policy consulting firm, was hired in August to help the three-county coalition identify strengths, weaknesses and the types of industry they are likely to be most successful in recruiting.
BSA has sent an extensive questionnaire to each county and is gathering information from several sources. Input from area residents is a key component, officials say.
Boyette said the survey is necessary to understand the economic development challenges and opportunities in the region. The online survey is available at surveygizmo.com/s/389883/tap-region-survey.
“This survey takes only a few minutes to complete, and we need a broad range of participants who are willing to share their perspectives on how to best position the TAP Alliance region to compete for high quality jobs,” said Del Boyette.
