TCPS to announce headmaster next week

TUPELO – Brian K. Benscoter has been named the new headmaster at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School.
Benscoter comes from Shades Mountain Christian School in Hoover, Ala., where he has been a teacher, campus pastor and administrator since 1992.
His tenure began on July 1, according to a press release from the school sent on Friday.
TCPS has called an on-campus press conference for Tuesday at 2 p.m. to introduce Benscoter. He replaces David Culpepper, who was let go by the school in January after five years at the school.
Benscoter and his wife Vicky have two adult daughters who live in California and a daughter, Anna, who will be entering 10th grade at TCPS in the fall.
He is an Air Force veteran with training as a cadet at the Air Force Academy. He has a bachelor of religious education degree from William Tyndale College and two masters degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary. He also attained ACSI Professional Lifetime Administrator Certification.
“Mr. Benscoter has a passion for Christian education and God has gifted him in the areas of developing relationships, teaching and administrative/ organizational skills,” the school said in a press release.
