JACKSON – The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) would like to inform motorists of an temporary lane closure on U.S. Highway 45 in Lee County.
Simmons Erosion Control recently began temporary lane closures on U.S. Highway 45 that will allow crews to install another section of the larger 20-mile cable barrier median in Lee County. This part of the cable barrier will be installed along a one (1) mile section of U.S. Highway 45 beginning at the Highway 78 interchange and ending at the McCullough Boulevard interchange.
Subsequent closures may be required for the inside lanes on U.S. Highway 45 from the Eason Boulevard interchange to the Verona exit as each section’s grade work is completed. The 20-mile cable barrier project was awarded to Simmons Erosion Control of Lake, MS at the cost of $3,439,494.29.
