Ten Mississippi counties' ledgers now available online

PONTOTOC – The detailed general and vendor ledgers of 10 Mississippi counties are now available for public review and inspection at Three Rivers Planning and Development District’s website.
“This is public information that has always been available for inspection at the individual county courthouses,” said Three Rivers Executive Director Randy Kelley. “Now we are working with our counties to make the same information available for public view anytime – day or night – on our website.
“The past five fiscal years of information, years 2006-2007 through 2010-2011, are posted and will be updated with new fiscal year data each year.”
The counties include Calhoun, Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee, Monroe, Oktibbeha, Union, Kemper and Newton.
These counties and Three Rivers share the Visa Software developed by Three Rivers staff member Gordon Easterling in conjunction with the Mississippi State Auditor’s Office and federal officials.
“This software and the large mainframe computer we share have served the needs of our 10 county clients at a fraction of the cost of most other programs,” said Kelley. “It continues to meet virtually every need these counties have in the administration of their finances.”
