TUPELO – News anchor Terry Smith will leave WTVA at the end of the month.
Smith celebrated his 30th anniversary with the station in June. He anchors the evening newscasts, as well as hosting WTVA’s community show “Focus” and co-hosting the Regional Rehabilitation Center’s Celebration of Hope Telethon.
He plans to work on voice over productions, and will teach others the art of public speaking. He will continue to host “Focus” and the Celebration of Hope.
“We have been extraordinarily fortunate to have him as a leading force and generous mentor for over 30 years,” said Jane Spain, WTVA president. “We wish him great success with his new endeavor and couldn’t be happier for him and his family.”
His last day will be Aug. 30.
