OXFORD – Nerio Reyna of Texas pleaded guilty today to possession of more than 100 pounds of marijuana on the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Reyna, 50, of Starr, Texas, faces up to five years in prison and $250,000 in fines for his admission before Chief U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills. Penalties could be more severe, if he has a prior felony drug conviction.

Authorities charged him with possession of 48 kilos, or 106 pounds, of marijuana in Tishomingo County.

Reyna was indicted in 2011 and was due to trial Dec. 12.

He will not be sentenced until completion of a report by the U.S. Probation Service to aid Mills’ decision.
