The Alliance offers seminar on using social networking in marketing

CORINTH – Social networking or marketing is an unknown for many people in business that will be demystified in a Thursday evening seminar.
The Alliance is presenting the free seminar on how to use sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others to reach a wider audience. It is scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Northeast at Corinth campus on South Harper Road.
“We did a membership survey several months ago asking what types of business seminars they would like to have, and this is one that got a high response,” said Community Development Director Andrea Rose.
The workshop is sponsored and developed by the Northeast Mississippi Community College Division of Workforce Training and Economic Development, with Daniel Jones as instructor.
The sites can be useful free or low-cost business tools and marketing outlets.
“Lots of people have heard of the sites but aren’t familiar with how to use them,” Rose said. “After this seminar we want you to be comfortable that when you get back to your desk you’ll be able to work on it.”
The computer lab at the Corinth campus has about 20 laptops that participants will use, and several people have signed up who will bring their own Wi-Fi enabled laptops.
Spaces are filling quickly, however, so Rose said individuals need to call soon to reserve a spot.
