BOONEVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Prentiss County authorities are asking residents to be vigilant after a series of thefts in the county’s northern areas.
Sheriff Randy Tolar tells The Daily Corinthian that thefts have risen sharply since the middle of May. Authorities say several residential burglaries may be connected to the spree.
The thieves have taken items such as weed eaters, chainsaws, leaf blowers, power tools, electronics, jewelry and medications.
Tolar says residents who see suspicious activity can call the Sheriff’s Office at 662-728-6232. Tips about the series of thefts also can go to Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi’s anonymous tip line at 800-773-8477, the sheriff says.
