SALTILLO – Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a Tuesday night robbery in Saltillo.
Authorities claim the apparent robbery, kidnapping and car theft started in Saltillo and ended up in Itawamba County.
Saltillo Police Chief Steve Brooks said the three men, whose names have not been released, are accused of beating up a man as he left his job at Sonic Drive-in in Saltillo about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. They allegedly took his money, put him in the car and took him to Itawamba County where they put him out.
About 1 a.m. Itawamba deputies chased a vehicle believed occupied by the trio, according to Sheriff Chris Dickinson.
He said the pursuit ended in Peppertown where the alleged suspects abandoned the car and ran into the woods. Authorities learned the identity of at least one of the alleged suspects which led to the arrest of all three.
Everyone involved with the case lives in Itawamba County, Dickinson said.
Brooks said the alleged victim suffered a broken nose in the incident.
