Three charged in stabbing in Union County

NEW ALBANY – Three men have been charged with aggravated assault after a man was stabbed in Union County.
The stabbing, which apparently stemmed from a work-related argument, took place last Thursday night in the Center community.
Timothy Russell, Jessie Snider and Jacob Rajacich, all of Pontotoc, were assigned bonds of $100,000 each. Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards said Russell was already on probation for a drug-related offense and will be turned over to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Investigators believe Russell to be the knife man but that “all three came up here with intentions of getting in an altercation,” Edwards said.
The actual victim of the stabbing was apparently at the home of the intended victim and may have tried to intervene, Edwards said, declining to identify the victim or his condition.
