Three charged in rash of burglaries

AMORY – The Amory Police Department has arrested a trio of Monroe County residents suspected in a series of vehicle break-ins during a 24-hour period Monday.

John Earl Melton, 22; Ashley Foster Gray, 23; and Sierra Leigh Allen, 24, were each charged with three counts of burglary of a vehicle, one count of burglary of a dwelling and one count of grand larceny.

The burglaries took place during the daylight hours in one neighborhood. The suspects were apprehended at the scene of a residential burglary in that same area on Monday.

The last known address for each of the suspects is in Monroe County.

Melton is currently being held at the Amory City Jail; Gray and Allen are being held at the Monroe County Jail. Bond will be set today for all three.
