Three killed in NEMS accident

The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate an early morning accident that claimed the life of 3 men. At approximately 5:15am, State Troopers were dispatched to the intersection of County Road 747 and US 72 in Alcorn County, near the Tippah County line.

Upon arriving it appeared Randle Walker, 31, of Decatur, Ala., had made a right turn off County Road 747 and was traveling west in a 1998 Peterbilt, Semi-Tractor and Trailer, when a 2006 GMC Sierra Pickup collided into the rear of the Semi-Trailer.

There were four occupants in the pickup including the driver, Arnoldo Moreno, 29, of Corinth.

Walker received minor injuries from the collision.

Moreno, as well as, Juan A Estrada, 35, of Nashville, Tenn., and Jose P Garcia-Guillen, 35, of Decatur, Ala, were all killed in the crash. They were pronounced dead on the scene. Raul Cabrera, 35, of Decatur, Ala., was airlifted to the MED in Memphis with serious injuries.

Moreno and Estrada were both wearing seat belts.
Garcia-Gullen and Cabrera were both unbuckled.

The accident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
