Three men charged after vandalism at golf course

TUPELO – Three men were in the Lee County jail Wednesday night on charges of felony malicious mischief after allegedly vandalizing Big Oaks golf course.
According to Sheriff’s Lt. Scotty Reedy, the men rode two ATVs over the course, damaging 12 out of 18 fields between midnight and 6 a.m. on Tuesday. He said Big Oaks management estimates $46,000 in damages and loss of revenue.
Charged are 23-year-old Donovan Wayne Phillips, who is a Saltillo volunteer firefighter, 26-year-old Joshua Kennedy and 25-year-old Dustin Williams.
Reedy said police discovered the driver’s license and wallet of one of the men at the scene.
