SHANNON – Police Chief Desiree Kirshner said the three pedestrians struck by a car around 8 p.m. Monday are all in stable condition.

Jerry Tucker, 38, of Shannon, is in critical but stable condition. His wife, Peggy Tucker, 56, is also stable.

A third pedestrian, who wasn’t walking with the couple but was hit by the same car on Shackleford Avenue, is also in stable condition.

Kirshner said it doesn’t appear the driver of the vehicle, Mary Dale Rogers, 90, of Nettleton, was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, but they are still investigating the crash.

No charges are currently filed.

Kirshner said the three pedestrians were hit from behind while walking on Shackleford Avenue sometime just before 8 p.m. Monday night. She said it appears the driver didn’t see the pedestrians when she struck them with her Honda Accord.
