SALTILLO – The full autopsy report on shooting victim Anna Catherine McCoy won’t be back for another six to eight weeks, according to Lee County Coroner Carolyn Gillentine-Green.
Investigators had hoped to have the report this week, but Gillentine-Green said Wednesday that the amount of work needed, plus an already heavy workload for the state medical examiner’s office, will require more time.
McCoy was found shot on April 15 at a home in Saltillo. A preliminary report received Monday ruled her death as a homicide, but Saltillo Police Investigator Mark Haygood said the department is going to wait to see the full report before they make a ruling.
Haygood had hoped the report would be in before the end of the week.
No one has been arrested in connection with McCoy’s death.
