BURNSVILLE – A man considered armed and dangerous is still at large after an armed robbery at a Burnsville drug store, said Tishomingo County’s chief deputy.
Law enforcement is searching for a man described as a white male, about 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-9-inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds and wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a camouflage mask.
About 8:25 a.m. Tuesday a man entered Burnsville Discount Drugs where two employees were on duty. Carrying a shotgun, the suspect pointed the gun at the employee near the door and ordered her to give him “the pills,” said Chief Deputy Jamie Reynolds. He followed her to the back of the store where the second employee opened the safe and gave him pills, which he took and ran out.
The man escaped on foot and ran into woods behind the store.
An Alcorn County K9 dog called in to help with the search was never able to catch a scent to follow, Reynolds said.
