Tombstone on mass grave of soldiers to be dedicated in Tishomingo County

IUKA – A tombstone recently placed on the mass grave of 263 Confederate soldiers killed in the Battle of Iuka will be dedicated during ceremonies at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The grave site is located in Shady Grove Cemetery, Indian Creek Road, Iuka.
Members of the Col. W.P. Rogers Camp No. 321 Sons of Confederate Veterans of Corinth, the Tishomingo County Archives and History Museum in Iuka and the Iuka chapter of United Daughters of the Confederacy are holding the Dedication Memorial Service to honor those killed on Sept. 19, 1862.
