Pam Lowery, pictured above, stops by the Daily Journal office on Monday to be one of the first to pick up a copy of “31 Miles of Destruction,” the Journal’s commemorative book on the April 28 tornado and its aftermath.

The 144-page hardback volume features the work of Journal photographers who were on the scene during and immediately after the storm hit and who documented the recovery for weeks afterward.

Buyers who pre-ordered at a discount may pick up their books at the Journal office, 1242 S. Green St., Tupelo, and it’s on sale to others for $39.95. A portion of the proceeds will go to CREATE Foundation’s tornado relief fund.

When is the DJ office open so people can buy this book? And is it available at local bookstores or the Oren Dunn City Museum? Thank you for any information.
