TUPELO – Tupelo’s school board will have a specially called meeting at noon today at Hancock Leadership Center to discuss the proposed merger between Carver and Church Street elementary schools.
The board learned last week that the cost of placing portable classrooms on Carver’s campus for the merger would be more than $500,000 over budget. It then voted to table the issue until its next meeting.
On the agenda for today’s meeting is whether to lease portable classrooms, to purchase portable classrooms or to consider other options. The board also will consider a bid for renovations and site improvements for Carver and will hold an executive session to discuss personnel.
