Citizens encouraged to clean up for Flywheel Festival guests
From staff reports
HOUSTON – The annual Trash Bash will be held this Saturday, April 18, beginning at 9 a.m. at City Hall in Houston. The event is sponsored by Houston Proud as an effort to encourage residents to clean up their businesses and properties in advance of the Spring Flywheel festival. The festival draws visitors from around Mississippi and neighboring states and sponsors hope residents will remember to put their best foot forward in showing hospitality and a clean city.
This year, the event will begin at 9 a.m. at City Hall and anyone interested in volunteering is welcome. Trash bags will be provided, but volunteers should wear comfortable clothing and gloves.
City Hall will provide receptacles for tires and paint to be dropped off. Those who have items for disposal and are not able to bring them to the receptacles may contact City Hall at 456-2328 to work out a pick up schedule.
City employees will not be out to pick up on Saturday, April 18.
