Trial narrowed to local Legion Post

OXFORD – American Legion Post 180 will defend itself against charges it wronged a wedding reception guest in 2007.
Earlier this week, Chief U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills tossed out claims against The American Legion and Mississippi’s chapter.
Trial is set before Mills in Oxford on April 11.
Paul Ashby, a black guest at the reception, sued with the bride and bridegroom claiming his constitutional rights were violated when he initially was denied alcohol service in the Baldwyn Legion post’s bar. They also claim the post committed the state wrong of “outrage” against them.
