The Mississippi Highway Patrol has increased enforcement in school zones located along highways.
From 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., 146 citations were issued in Troop F’s 31 highway school zones during the first three days of this school year.
“This will be a continued effort to ensure our children are kept safe while traveling to and from school,” said Highway Patrol Trooper Ray Hall. “Most of the school zones have decreased speed limits, extra cautions and congested traffic
during school hours so we want to do our part in helping maintain a safe traffic flow through those
