TUNICA — The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate who climbed a fence and escaped during a work detail.

County spokesman Larry Liddell tells The Commercial Appeal 38-year-old Patrick Parnell Gordon, a jail trusty, was working outside the county’s emergency management building on U.S. 61 Wednesday when he took off his orange jump suit and climbed a fence shortly before 10 a.m.

He said Gordon, who was in jail on a charge of receiving stolen property, was being held on a warrant for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

After his escape, he was last seen near an apartment complex in Tunica.
