Tupelo accident victim dies from apparent heart attack

TUPELO – Mitchell Colburn, 58, died Tuesday morning from an an apparent heart attack after an early morning car accident.
Lee County Coroner Carolyn Gillentine-Green said Colburn had a history of heart problems. His body will not be sent for an autopsy.
Tupelo Police said at around 7:45 a.m. Colburn’s car ran a red light on Cliff Gookin and ran into a culvert, causing it to land upside down.
Colburn was helped from the vehicle and complained to police that he couldn’t breath and shortly after he became unresponsive. He was taken to the North Mississippi Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
