TUPELO – The Tupelo-Lee Humane Society has taken another step toward building a new animal shelter.
Animal Shelter Fundraising, an Arizona based consulting firm specializing in helping animal welfare groups with fundraising, marketing and operations, is in Tupelo until Tuesday to conduct a fundraising feasibility study.
The feasibility study is an in-depth look at the various factors that assess the organization’s chance of successfully raising enough capital to fund construction of a new animal shelter and the ability to attract community leadership and gain public support.
The humane society’s current animal shelter has been operating out of a former veterinary clinic on South Gloster Street in Tupelo since 1995, and the humane society’s leaders believe the current facility no longer meets the needs of the community.
