TUPELO – Tupelo Police arrested a Tupelo man Thursday for auto burglary after a neighbor reported a suspicious person in a nearby car.
Ledarius Bunchanan, 21, of Tupelo, was charged with auto burglary and will be arraigned today and Lee County Justice Court.
Capt. Tim Tate, of the Tupelo Police Department, said there has been an increase in people breaking into cars in the last week and most have been crimes of opportunity.
“It’s summer time, people are rambling around looking in cars,” Tate said. “The majority of them have left their vehicles unlocked. The moral of the story is to lock your stuff up.”
