A Tupelo man was arrested and charged with looting following the tornado that hit the city last week.

A Lee County Sheriff’s Department officer spotted a suspicious truck on County Road 811 in the Auburn Community while on disaster detail patrol. The deputy then saw a man load sheet metal and other items into the vehicle. The man, James Kimbrell, 56, did not live in the area and did not have permission to be there.

Kimbrell was then arrested and charged with looting.

Two other men were arrested in the same area on Thursday and charged with looting.
