Tupelo man sentenced for enticement of minor

OXFORD – Damion Lundy of Tupelo was ordered to 12 years in prison on a federal conviction that he tried to entice a 15-year-old for sex.
Lundy, 28, was indicted in October 2008 on one count that in August 2006 he used the Internet and cell phone text messaging to try to persuade a minor to have sex with him, which would constitute statutory rape.
A mistrial was declared in his December 2009 trial, then a jury convicted him July 15 in a second trial.
U.S. District Judge W. Allen Pepper Jr. sentenced Lundy this month and ordered him to prison on Jan. 31. The U.S. Bureau of Prisons will decide where he will serve his term.
