Tupelo Middle School gets new assistant principals

TUPELO – Talina Knight and Jay Cossey will be the new assistant principals at Tupelo Middle School after getting school board approval on Tuesday.

Knight was school test coordinator at Tupelo High School for the past two years. Prior to that, she taught seventh-grade language arts at Tupelo Middle for 14 years and served as assistant principal intern at New Albany elementary and high schools for one year.

Cossey spent the past five years at New Albany High School, where he taught physics and physical science and also coached. He’s also taught and coached in DeSoto, Lafayette, Madison and Alcorn counties.

They replace Nathan Hall, who became principal at Corinth Middle, and Ken McGaha, who left to become assistant principal at Horn Lake High.
