Tupelo Police respond to possible armed robbery by Malco

Tupelo’s police responded to a report of a possible armed robbery and shots fired at the Malco movie theater’s parking lot Friday night.
According to Capt. Rusty Haynes, the department is still investigating the report and has not yet confirmed a robbery took place and has not found where shots had been fired.
According to police, the suspect police are searching for possibly drove off in a black SUV. The suspect is described by those filing the report as a black man in a black hoodie with different colored writing on the front. He was about 5-foot 9-inches tall, wearing dark pants and a goatee. The people reporting it to police said he showed a silver revolver.
The call came in to 911 at 9:13 p.m. Malco is in the Tupelo Commons off of North Gloster Street.
No injuries were reported.
