Tupelo Police warn public about scam

The Tupelo Police Department would like to make the public aware of a possible scam occurring in the city.
There have been reports of individuals soliciting in neighborhoods for donations to organizations such as The Wounded Warrior Project and Boys and Girls Club, according to Tupelo Police Chief Tony Carleton.
“The Tupelo Police Dept would like to make citizens aware that anyone that actually represents any organization will have proof of their involvement with the organization and are also required to have a permit issued through the City of Tupelo,” Carleton said in a press release.
